The first time I tried it I was stuck permanently on a white screen and I did not see the 'Loading' screen. As announced on the Black Mesa Steam community page, the Xen levels have now landed. The beta will include the first two chapters of Xen campaign while other chapters will also arrive shorty after.
After the white screen the game loaded into the next level immediately. Half-Life remake Black Mesa from the developers Crowbar Collective will have public beta test starting on 01 August 2019. It was given a standalone release on Steam Early Access in 2015 but was missing the Xen chapters.
